Default Experimental Scenario - 12-02-2009, 01:00 PM

Hi folks, I will be putting together an experimental scenario type this weekend which can hopefully be used in future ops. I say experimental because I have personally not played something like this before (correct me if I am wrong). The scenario design is based on real-time results while incorporating a points element. The op will consist of four seperate games (30-40 minutes max). The result of the first game will affect the second game played and so forth. The games are as follows:
__________________________________________________ _______________
Gameplay

Game 1 (40 min)
Red attacks Silo Complex defended by Yellow
Objective:
- Red (R): Capture complex & defend 5 minute counter-attack (# of survivors determines # of Rangers in next game, if Red wins game 1).
- Yellow (Y): Defend complex at all costs. Conduct counter-attack if lost.
Respawn:
- R: 10 for the entire team; none after complex is captured
- Y: None for defense; first 10 “killed” will make up the counter-attack force
Result:
- R wins: 2a
- Y wins: 2b
Game 2a (40 min)
Ranger Game
Objective:
- R: Rescue team. Extract Rangers and intel.
- Y: Capture team. Recover intel and reach extraction (w/ or w/o Ranger interrogation).
Respawn:
- R: Unlimited until Ranger rescue/capture; none after
- Y: Unlimited until Ranger rescue/capture; none after
Result:
- R wins: 3a
- Y wins: 3b
Game 2b (30 min)
Convoy Game
Objective:
- R: Ambush team. Prevent extraction and recover intel.
- Y: Convoy team. Start at Silo Complex, reach extraction and protect intel.
Respawn:
- R: None
- Y: None
Result:
- R wins: 3c
- Y wins: 3d
Game 3a (30 min)
Convoy Game
Objective:
- R: Convoy team. Reach extraction and protect intel.
- Y: Ambush team. Prevent extraction and recover intel.
Respawn:
- R: None
- Y: None
Result:
- R wins: 4a
- Y wins: 4b
Game 3b (30 min)
Convoy Game
Objective:
- R: Ambush team. Prevent extraction and recover intel.
- Y: Convoy team. Reach extraction and protect intel.
Respawn:
- R: None
- Y: None
Result:
- R wins: 4a
- Y wins: 4b
Game 3c (30 min)
VIP Capture
Objective:
- R: Capture team. Capture VIP and reach extraction.
- Y: VIP team. Protect VIP and reach safe-zone (Admin choice)
Respawn:
- R: None
- Y: None; 1 heal by medic (VIP/Admin)
Result:
- R wins: 4a
- Y wins: 4b
Game 3d (30 min)
Base Camp Assault
Objective:
- R: Defend team. Defend camp until time expires or assault team eliminated.
- Y: Assault team. Capture camp.
Respawn:
- R: None
- Y: None; 1 heal by medic (Admin)
Result:
- R wins: 4a
- Y wins: 4b
Game 4 (30 min)
Territories Game
Objective:
- Control 2 out of 3 strategic points throughout the field until time expires and/or elimination of opposing team.
Respawn:
- None
4a: Red starts with advantage (begins with 1 control point in hand).
4b: Yellow starts with advantage.
__________________________________________________ _______________
Points System

Each Game won= 10 points.
Game 4 bonus= 2 points per player alive for winning side.
Winner= Team with most points at the end of the scenario.

I have added the bonus points in order to have a tiebreaker/catch-up tool. If your team loses the first 3 games, you still have a chance to win the scenario, but you have to win game 4 decisively.
__________________________________________________ _______________
Notes

- You may notice that there are 3 possible Convoy games, but please keep in mind that only one can be played.
- VIP Capture is a modified Convoy Game. VIP team must travel along an established path. Once Capture team initiates contact, the VIP team will extract the VIP to a safe-zone determined by the VIP/Admin.
- In games with limited respawns and/or medic heals, re-born players will be given visual identifiers to determine status.
- In medic games- Casualties may only move with the assistance of a live player and/or medic.
__________________________________________________ _______________

I'm only posting this up here to gather feedback/ideas. I'm not trying to rally players to "the field that shall not be named," lol. In fact, I'd rather do the first-run with a smaller number of players. Anyways, after I iron out the kinks, I hope that this style of scenario design can be incorporated into other larger ops.

Lonewolf- IF DAWG is on Red, and IF they win the first game and IF you stay alive to the end, THEN you can be a Ranger for the Ranger game (Game 2a) . Rangers will be based on the players left standing after the first game ends. Assuming they win of course.

Robcat- It does seem like a lot of work, but most of that is in the preparation. The admin part should not be any harder than when running a regular game. Also, by eliminating multiple respawns in most of the games, I hope to lower the risk of a clusterfuck (pardon my french). I will be acting as a "passive" medic when the game calls for it so there won't be any medic cheating (touch and go). There will also be a briefing before every game to make sure that everyone is on the same page. That being said, it could all blow up in my face

For anyone that is interested, the jist of the story is that dueling mega-corps have upped the corporate espionage game to new levels. They have hired PMC groups to act as security for their companies. One side (Red) learns of a top security installation deep in the Amazon jungle. In this facility, Yellow is developing a revoluionary product poised to take the world by storm. The scenario begins when Red attacks the research facility in search of this intel.

Here is an example of how the game could go:
Red captures the facility (w/ target intel) and repels Yellow's first counter-attack (go to 2a). The surviving Red force must hold out repeated attacks from Yellow until exfiltrated by reinforcements (dead players from Game 1). Unfortunately, Yellow forces capture/interrogate the isolated commandos before the rest of Red can get to them. Yellow then learns of the location in which the commandos stashed the stolen intel, retrieve it, and exit to their safe-zone (go to 3b). Yellow now must reach an awaiting chopper to take the intel to safety. Along the way, Red catches up to them and steals the package once again. Red manages to get the intel out to their side before Yellow can get it back (go to 4a). Now that the intel is safe, Red must turn their attention to the remaining Yellow forces and assure that there are no witnesses. Due to their superior performance, they have gained an upper hand in this final confrontation. May the best Merc win.

As you see, there are many different possible roads to the final game. I could have made more variations of Game 4, but my head wanted to explode, lol.
